It’s here! The 2017 awards season is upon us and this coming weekend is the ever exciting, (but sometimes disappointing) Oscars! Also known as the Academy Awards, the Oscars is one of Ian Filippini Santa Barbara’s favorite awards show of all time. Ian Filippini Santa Barbara loves the suspense of finding out which actors and actresses and movies win, but he also loves seeing the fashion on the red carpet.

This year, the Oscars will air on Sunday, February 26, 2017 and will be giving awards to movies from 2016. The Oscars have been an official awards show since 1927. During this year’s Oscars, there are some great films up for awards such as Arrival, Hidden Figures and the ever popular La La Land, Ian Filippini Santa Barbara is not sure who he would like to win the award, but he’s just excited to watch everything unfold.

For best actor, Ryan Gosling, Denzel Washington and Casey Affleck are up for awards, just to name a few. For best actress there is Natalie Portman, Emma Stone and Meryl Streep. Ian Filippini Santa Barbara doesn’t have a favorite per say, but he may be secretly rooting for Natalie Portman!

Another fun part of watching the Oscars for Ian Filippini Santa Barbara is the viewing parties that happen all around Santa Barbara. Some people just keep it casual at home with their families and friends, but some people go all out and dress up in their finest. Ian Filippini Santa Barbara prefers the casual party, just staying home with his loved ones.
